Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock release their first single ‘It Takes Two’ from their first studio album ‘It Takes Two’.

The album went on be certified platinum by the RIAA on June 12th 1989 followed by the single ‘It Takes Two’ being certified platinum on December 28th 1989.

In popular culture, ‘It Takes Two’ was used as the main theme song for the first season of ‘Yo! MTV Raps with Fab 5 Freddy. The song has also been sampled by hip-house rapper Mr. Lee on the track “Get Busy,” iconic duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince on the track “I Wanna Rock,” Crunk&B singer turned model Ciara on the track “Make It Last For Ever,” as well as TV and film including American Dad!, My Name is Earl, and in the second trailer of the new movie Ant-Man and the Wasp among so many more.
